I didn't think you were given the boot, like I said, if you were, there would have been notice on the site. Sadly, this site is turning into a train wreck & whomever is responsible for it, doesn't seem to give a rip anymore, sad! Thank goodness Gary has started Snow Trails USA, it's nice to see the membership growing, I hope everyone from here, members & visitors alike make the move. Some might think oh darn LOL, I do not know what happened, thinking may have something to do with new computers as mine keeps losing communication with printer for some reason but I could not log on for some time and for some reason today I can.
I was hoping I hadn't been given the boot still not completely sure what happened there but glad to be back on, Membership on snowtrailsusa growing and tweaking site yet, how does the old saying go..."Rome wasn't built in a day" was smart to do early release as he did even though still building it, catch startup glitches right away, adapt and refine as it grows instead of releasing full product right away and potentially challenging a whole slew of issues at one time. I hope patience from members will prevail because it is a good-looking site, feels better with every addition and the skies the limit where Gary wants to take it. I will say...Gary had a good heart, commitment to the sport and the family we have here. Hats off and huge Thank you to Gary for his endeavor!!!I didn't think you were given the boot, like I said, if you were, there would have been notice on the site. This is pretty much spot on. At one point this weekend, when the site was up, I opened the home page. My tracker blocking software blocked 275 tracking attempts just opening the home page. Even the tracker all-star sites (weather, news sites, etc.) aren't in this league.JD has been unloggable a lot lately ad robots take over and there is a lot of downtime before noticed or corrected only to happen again. It is what it is doesn’t seem to be much interest to correct or it would have been corrected.![]()
How do you find it? i typed in "Snow Trails USA" and hot nothing so far except ski resortsI didn't think you were given the boot, like I said, if you were, there would have been notice on the site. When you get to your profile page, select "Communities" from the upper right corner of your profile screen, if your using a smart phone, you will find the communities by selecting the 3 lined box in the upper right corner. If on a PC, from the home page select short cuts to find the various communities. It is a bit more to navigate, but it's coming together.I gotta admit I am getting frustrated. I have gone to the new website. I have created an account. Now when I go over there & click on things like Shortcuts or General Discussion it just takes me to my profile page & asks if I want to go "Back to the website". Is there some magic place to click to see things like discussion boards? I am either not setup correctly or I am doing something wrong I guess.
Ya you have to actually join each group separately..funny pages, tech talk, General discussion....I gotta admit I am getting frustrated. I have gone to the new website. I have created an account. These guys kind of beat me to it, but if you're on a PC, this is the typical sequence: Down the line this can maybe be made a little more streamlined but for now, it’s just a couple of extra clicks and after a pass or two, it becomes automatic.I gotta admit I am getting frustrated. Yes, like you said, I don't think there's any effort or motivation to maintain it. And that's fine and understandable, but I think a formal announcement and/or just turning the site off would be better than in its current form of ads running wild and access issues. I'll see you guys on Snow Trails.I didn't think you were given the boot, like I said, if you were, there would have been notice on the site. Good to hear that. I hope everyone makes the transition.Yes, like you said, I don't think there's any effort or motivation to maintain it. Thanks for the heads up on that Kelly! initially sounded like only members access site only, for those of you who have also maybe only looked at site upon its original release.... the site has continued to evolve since then, if you haven't or maybe you did upon initial release, give it a revisit/try again! Realize its summer but hoping to see all of you over there eventually! I have not been having much issue getting on this site lately and I am in now way saying to ditch this one either but if you haven't yet.... give snowtrailsusa a look! join the site! was a huge undertaking by Gary! Hope to see you all over there as well!!I haven't been on here much lately so maybe you people can tell me, has the site been going down as often as it has in the past? I've been able to get on every time I've tried recently, which is unusual.
For those of you that have been logging into SnowTrailsUSA or are just curious about the site, here's a little tip (if you don't already know this). All of the discussion pages on the site are public, which means they can be viewed without logging in. Just do the following.
Open the website snowtrailsusa.com and select "Shortcuts" at the top of the page.
Select one of the "Join our Community" pages (doesn't matter which one)
When the Login page comes up, select "Communities" at the top right of the page instead of logging in.
All of the Discussion groups will then be displayed and you can select any of them to view all posts, photos, and comments
You won't be able to post or respond to posts in any way but it's a quick way to catch up on things. Nice thing is that all photos are full-size even if you're not logged in.
Yes, the login has some quirks to it, but, once accustom to it, it's not an issue. It is coming together a bit at a time, though after having been here for so long, the change is a bit of a curveball. I wish there was an easier way to post pictures in the discussion community forum though, that one is not too easy for the average user (me). Overall, I do like the new digs. It'll just take a bit of use to get the hang of it all.JD has not been down lately whenever I try to login.
Snowtrails...I recently signed up. It's a new site to me so it's a little clumsy navigating around it. I login and it takes me right back to the login screen as if login failed. but if I select communities the page refreshes and all of a sudden I'm logged in. Site has a clean look which I like. Time will tell.
