Backing up a hard drive to another hard drive

I'm trying to backup a network hard drive (z) to another network hard drive . Does anyone know of an automatic way to do this?

I've been looking for software but all the software is for backing up the drives on your computer and not mapped drives.

What version of windows are you using? There are tools built into all versions to do this task but it depends on the version you have as to what tool you would use as they have changed over the years.

I attempted to use the software built in. It's Vista. The mapped drives are not on there. According to some forums online, you cannot do that with their software. Anything that I find online, no one knows what to do, but perhaps I'm not searching hard enough.

Vista is kinda like the Pinto of operating systems. It runs - but its not pretty. You can try the following link to get to NTBACKUP. I can email you the files that are listed in the article if you do not have a windows xp computer. NTBACKUP can do network drives. Just let me know your email address and I will zip them up and have them off to you.

I do actually have an xp machine on my network. This should work out well. I plan to work on this later this week. Thanks for your advice.

Robocopy. with this tool you can copy files from anywhere to anywhere. Also it will create logs of the job and can also be used in scripts.
