Basement Stuff

Seems like I'm always clearing shelves or anywhere to add more stuff. Garage to basement. B'ment to garage. One shelf to another. And I am always getting rid of stuff, to make room for new stuff. Still I keep it all organized and remember where and can find something the last place I put it.
I try and keep only the important - But will I ever use it ?

Not hardly…pilgrim!

All that does is prolong the big melt down. You retire decide you don't want that huge stock pile of stuff, get sorting thru it and guess what....find out you own 78 screw drivers, 16 drill drivers, boxes of screws that cost 3 dollars from home depot (when was the last time you saw that tiny price on a box of screws??) and more brackets and wall mollies than anyone should ever own.

I told my wife that I am now in the hardware business and just need a shingle to hang out by the road so that customers know where to drive to.

Take my word for it....the day is coming when you have to pare down...and the sooner you bridge that gap the better off you will be....it is painful, destructive to marriages, and things will get ugly, but you CAN do it, just takes guts and some fortitude and a will to get your life organized again.

Remember the smaller tool box you owned when you got married? Try and get back to that state before you depart this world cause you can't take it with you even though I have no doubt in my mind that the door to the pearly gates are squeaking and the molding is hanging loose at the bottom and the light switch is broken and the toilet needs the ball cock replaced. The right tool is always preferred...but then what do I know

It does amaze me how much stuff 1 man can accumulate.
Having 7 engines to keep running is a part time job:)
