Baudette, MN Lake of the Woods

Rode about 50 miles from Baudette to Zippel Bay State Park and back. All the trails north of highway 11 appeared to be groomed. The trails south of highway 11 don't look to be groomed yet. I can only assume, they are waiting for the swamps south of 11 to freeze up more before grooming?

The trails that were groomed were pretty good and as good as they have been the last couple winters. 8-12" snow by tuesday pm??? That would turn things pretty dang good around here.

I don't know why the pics are sideways. ???

Looks good, thanks for the info last week. My son and I ended up staying in Naytahwaush at pinehurst. Rode around Itasca State Park and surrounding area, had a great time and very good snow.

70 miles yesterday. Rode the loop from Baudette south of highway 11 to Williams back to Baudette on the north side of highway 11, didn't see another sled. Everything I rode had been passed by the groomer at least once.

I would guess most all the trails in the area will have been groomed at least once by this weekend (if they aren't already). The one exception that probably is not get groomed is the trails towards birchdale and bigfalls. Those trails go through some nasty swamps and beaver ponds that might not be froze down enough yet. With the fluffy few inches of snow we got the first half of December and the super warm November, there really is not much frost in the ground despite quite a few -20s nights.
