Kind of glad the Vics beat the Pac so the Bears could not back into the playoffs. They would get smoked in the 1st round and we would have Lovie and coaching crew for another year.

Yah that was the only good thing that came out of that loss is it eliminated the bears.

I guess that is a good reason teams like the Patriots and Packers,..ect.,.... are so hated by other fans,....
Because they always seem to be in at least a position to contend for a chance at the title every year.
Even though the teams are basically different every year.

Every year? From 1968-1994 (27 seasons) the Packers only won more than 9 games TWICE and over that period averaged less than 7 wins per season. More recently, they were 4-12 in 2005, 8-8 in 2006 and 6-10 in 2008! So in the last 8 years, their record has been over .500 only 62.5% of the time, not quite "every year."

Just read up on Bears & they have no idea who will be next head coach. I don't have a good feeling when they have no search focus & if they had a deal with Chuckie neither will admitt it. This sounds lke a disorganized mess unless management is laying in the weeds with a non public plan with a high profile coach.

The Bears have asked for permission to talk to Tom Clements (never heard of him) who is currently the offensive coordinator for the Packers. They need to make a big name hire IMO.

Good thing you had the time to straighten me out there mspease.
Guess I should get the record books out next time I stick my neck out there.
If you were so brushed up on things, you should have KNOWN who Tom Clements was.
Just saying,....

Just joshin' with ya bro!
Hope they DO find a good candidate though.

~peace out!

Bears management says they are talking to anyone & everyone & that means thye have no idea what they are doing. Also said they are not rebuilding & want to win with who they have. I'm like are you on DRUGS?? If staying with same cast Lovie was your best bet!! If Bear management thinks God will interview & coach them then they are wasting their time. Bears need new owners ASAP!

Believe me, I had to look that up, but I knew there were some thin years there! :) I wonder how many people would know who Tom Clements is that aren't Packer fans?

Will you be singing at the Ride In again this year? I hope to make it this year and will see you there!

95% sure I'll be helping with the MC'ing and
maybe playing a couple tunes! :)
Only "bump" would be if I was "denied" my vacation.
I always hold my breath until the darn schedule comes out.
Crossing my fingers again.
The "double-edged-sword" would be: If the Pack "did" make it to the big game,....
people with seniority ahead of me would be jumping at taking that day (or next) off.
"bandwagon fans"
But I'm pretty sure We'll be tippin' a few! :)
Hope You can make it.

I sure hope they don't deny you! I would say the Pack has as good of a chance to get to the big game as anyone in the NFC, certainly more than my Vikings! :( One small detail is we need some snow, but we will have it by then, right?

I disagree that they have no idea what they are doing with this coaching search...would you show your hand? Of course not and for multiple reasons including: leverage with the salary, nfl requirements to interview a minority candidate and perhaps their next coach is still under contract/perhaps coaching in the playoffs.

Go Vikes!

I don't think they are not showing their hand instead they have no idea who but know who not which was Lovie. I think the coach search will take a month at least simply because they have no 1 person in mind. I don't know if you have been to the Bears website but if you have time read up on Bears management & what they are stating at this time. Crazy disorganized stuff IMO. I know when I made I change I always knew who I wanted to replace the person discharged or I didn't make the change. Bears need to be one during draft day & in past have not done well in draft. New coach needs to improve Bears in all areas & although Bear management won't admitt it the team needs rebuilding. How can Bears improve if they can't publically admitt what is wrong with the team? Management just seems too long in the BS Dept.to make a positive change & they need to be more honest with their evaluations otherwise they are fools & waiting for head coach to tell them what is wrong. If they don't know what they need how can they hire the right guy?

Marc Trestman is the new head coach. They announced this morning.
He was the coach in the Canadian league for the last couple of years and let them to 2 Grey titles what ever that is.

has there ever been a coach that came to the nfl from Canadian league or the USFL and was successful? Can't think of any.

Marc Trestman was a QB trainer with guys like Steve Young who progressed & got better each year with West Coast O. I do think Marc Trestman will make or break Cutler one of my pet peeves with Bears & that is a good thing. Although Cutler says he is thrilled with Marc Trestman I'm thinking Cutler will have to refine his QB & leadership skills ASAP or Trestman will move him quickly. Cutler has good arm & legs but throws off balance on almost every play & way too many airballs. Next we see what Trestman does with the rest of the coaching staff & Oline?
