FYI according to Tom at BBB the Mobile in Bergland is closed. Plan accordingly since they were the DNR permit station.

Maple Ridge Bait and Motel 1.5 miles west of Bergland and Gogebic Grocery also has them located on M-64 approx 10 miles south of M-28 just to name a few.

Settlers across the street from the Mobil???

Same as Greg I remember 2 gas stations across the street from each other & then Maple Ridge Bait and Motel further west down the street on a trail spur. Has to be at least 2 gas opps there even with a closed Mobile.

Thanks Mark.

Plenty of gas opportunities but wish I had known about the other DNR location, had to wait in line 45 minutes after Christmas to get a sled permit.

If your ever in a bind Scott, I usually have one or two laying around.

As far as gas goes the Store in Bergland has NON Ethanol Premium
The Hoop-n-Hollar is selling NON Ethanol Premium
Gogebic Grocery is selling NON Ethanol 87
I believe most other resorts sell gas also.

That's great the Hoop is selling premium again. I avoided filling there the past several years as it had 87. It's nice to not have to run into town all of the time.

A little bit off topic but I bought my permits from the Mobil this season, and I had to show my DL. I've been buying permits other places for 20 years and have needed to show ID. Clerk told me it was the law.buddy bought a permit from the old Nordines in town didn't have to show anything but cash. Hoop has premium now , we filled there all weekend.

So you were there what happened all of a sudden up and close they didn't manage their money the right way

Waitress at Antonio's told us the owners are from western WI and shut it down due to the way it was being run. This is how rumors start. But on sat the old Nordines shut there pumps down as well, they were in the process of changing suppliers. There was no gas in bergland, George at the hoop got busy on sat.i don't know if the oasis(Nordines) has their pumps back and running.

From a pretty good source I heard it was a big company that owed the property and Building of the Mobil Station. The owner of the station was only leasing it. He was forced into a situation of Buy or get out, they would not renew his lease. I know it is an inconvenience for you guys, but it is tough keeping a business open up here. Snowmobiliers see us during our busiest time, the rest of the year most of us are just trying to keep the lights on. I wish we had snow 12 months out of the year. Well maybe 11 months, that way I could take Becker on a nice vacation for 4 weeks. Maybe to Antarctica LOL.
