Best Fish Fry in Eagle River area

Honey Bear gets my vote for best fish fry in E.R., hands down! Don't forget to order a Bloddy Mary as an appetizer......yes, I said appetizer.

For a burger, go 8 miles north to 12 Pines North in Conover. It used to be Cocktail Corner and then Tipplers. The new owners are serving up a 3/4# burger with all the trimmings and it is awesome.

The bear bar in winchester has excellent fish fry! They are a little more spendy tho, but worth it! Think Im going to try to make it to Bents Camp this Friday to try theirs. Heard good things about it.

Honey Bear is about the best in ER area, and we've been all over.
Last time I tried another place that shall go unnamed, they used too much garlic, yes garlic, on a huge walleye fillet and ruined it.
After getting that meal I was wishing I had gone to Honey Bear instead.

If you want fantastic thin crust homemade pizza, you have to consider DaVinchi's Hillside. Right on trail. Trail 7 I think.

Good fish fry at Vinchi's too. Affordable and the fish fillets come out hanging off both sides of the plate they're so big!

We just got home from our trip and it was awesome. We ate at the around the corner pub in Mercer for our first lunch, Friday fish at Twelve Pines, lunch saturday at Bent's camp and a burger Saturday night at the Braywood. I can honestly say we had great food at all places. I didnt understand why the wicked grill was closed on Saturday night, does anyone know if they are closed for the season? I love all the suggestions: our list for next trip is fish at the honey bear and a burger at twelve pines north. Thanks again for all the suggestions, now this Davinchis has me curious too.

Fish fry last fall, at unnamed place in previous post, they ran out of fish so only 1/2 the table of 4 got fish fry at 7 PM, but those that did were highly disappointed as walleye fillets were DRENCHED, and I mean DRENCHED in garlic. Absolutely no reason to put excessive garlic on walleye. Total amateur hour.

So I'm out riding on Friday coming thru the woods on trail 7, in back of the place mentioned in this post, and what do I smell thru a Modular helmet, 10 degree air and 4-stroke exhaust? Big time GARLIC.

Honey Bear in Eagle River (with a Bloody Mary of course ) &
Twelve Pines in Conover are my 2 fav's , Tall Pines would score a 10 if they had potato pancakes , but it's all you can eat , deep fried or broiled ..

Skidooking - was there Friday night too - excellent meal. Wife had walleye, I had the Cod. Both were outstanding, and I was shocked how many walleye fillets she got.
Were you buy chance sitting at one of the middle tables with a Bear sweatshirt on and a bunch of kids, one riding buddy and wife not riding?

Huh? ↑ I don't know what that means? But the pizza is as authentic as it can get outside the Chicago area. Dave & Jen are originally from Chicago and are well aware what "makes" a great Chicago style pizza.

Sorry it took a while to explain, I've been riding!

I got my places off Route 45 mixed up.... I made my comments because for some reason I was thinking you were talking about the "authentic" things you can get at the Frontier. Sorry, now I'll have to go check out Club 45 as I always enjoy a Chicago style pizza.
