Better to get shock rebuilt or buy new

IMO, get a "New" rebuildable shock, not a rebuilt shock, at least you'll know what you have.-Mezz

Maybe I'm a cheapskate but for the cost difference between New and Rebuilt I would go Rebuilt. My Fox Float 2's, I put on the front of my RMK, were 695 new. Got them from a reputable shock guy here for 325

Did you check to see if the suspension returned to normal height with the shock off? A new shock won't fix that situation. It does not matter if the adjusting block is maxed out. If not the springs are shot. Was common problem with the Polaris square springs.

Also make sure that the pivot points are indeed pivoting and not sticky.

OK, ended up just pulling the skid in the end..... New, rebuildable, shock did the trick, although I think that next year it is getting new springs, or the heavier duty ones. It just doesn't come back up as fast as it should. Or I am being paranoid lol. Thank you so much everyone for your help. I really appreciate it.

AC used the square springs also and they were junk too.
