Big weekend coming

Our busy time of year is during the time we wish we could take vacations which makes it impossible to take any extended time off but we do have 2 holiday weekends we are able to take some extended time off. Due to the crazy traffic and how busy the place will be where we have our trailer I opted to not take the boat up this weekend, my wife as expressed the need to get out on the water so we will be taking the canoe out fishing this weekend. One of our favorite lakes to fish we could never get our boat into anyways as you launch on a smaller lake and have to navigate a narrow shallow channel to access the main lake which has no houses on or near the water. It is very peaceful, has good structure, we have 3 go to places to fish on the lake, I will confess my wife and I are primarily bobber tossers and vertical jiggers, we try to catch but the primary enjoyment is the quietness of being out on the water in the early a.m. I will on occasion toss floating frogs in the pads and on top of shorelines, catching is always a bonus but I mainly enjoy just fishing. If fishing is good we will keep about 10 or 12 panfish between the two of us, that's it. I will admit at times my patience threshold can be thin but no matter how bad the day on the water is, I somehow have utter patience for fishing. Stepping off the pier into the boat or the canoe its like leaving the world behind for a while. betting fishing will be slow but may be able to post pics of one of our favorite lakes next tuesday, more to come....

Bobber fishing is the best. Caught my biggest large mouth with bobber and a half inch piece of dead worm. As you say, being in a boat and leaving cares behind is the main thing fish are a bonus

once you step onto the boat it is an instant feeling of relief for me from the daily grind, regardless of the activity planned for on the water
