Sad to hear that Bob has passed but can't help but smile just hearing his name. Think it would be hard to find anyone that wasn't a fan of Bob.

How could you not be with gems like this:

"When I came up to bat with three men on and two outs in the ninth, I looked in the other team's dugout and they were already in street clothes."

He was a classic.

I just thought I would share my experience and "run in" with Mr. Baseball, I used to be an avid contest and tournament fisherman on Lake Michigan, watching the news this morning they were talking about the Vince Lombardi golf fundraiser. Another one Bob Uecker was involved in was the Make A Wish foundation and once a year he would host the Bob Uecker Invitational Make A Wish fishing tournament out of Racine, It was a two day $15,000.00 fishing tournament that would draw some of the top fisherman on the lake amounting to over 150 plus boats. Me and my crew entered the tournament twice, one of the years we were pre fishing off an area in fisherman lingo was the "mother house" area, we were dragging 12 lines behind the boat including 8 color lead cores and long copper lines. All of a sudden we have a boat headed towards us in direction that would have put him right across and into our lines. We were there first so like most fishermen I was started to get a little upset, which ended up being very upset. As the boat got closer i started yelling, when we realized it was Bob Ueckers boat, maybe not his personally but for a donation to make a wish you could fish with Bob himself. Needless to say disaster was averted, the yelling turned into waves of the hand. When I saw him at the tournament event I had apologized to him and he autographed my fishing hat I was wearing at the time. Anyways I thought I would share that with you guys, just another good cause Bob was involved with.

Don't know if was the case in your situation but it's my understanding that Bob did have a fishing boat that he named "The Front Row". Pretty funny.
