Pretty proud once again with our high school football team. Won the state championship yesterday! 61-12 over Eden Valley-Watkins for the 7th state championship in the last 10 years!! With a 127-6 record in those ten years! Thats right. Let me start by saying I have no skin in the game (no kids) so I am not grandstanding. Town of 2,500 people. We have two kids playing in the NFL. Just simply proud of the guys that have built an epic football program here in Caledonia!! The stats are incredible. If you get time you should read up about the King family. Owen is the oldest, junior this year. Star QB. He pretty much sat out every 2nd half because of the lead the Warriors usually enjoy (season scoring avg. 43.9 points to opponents 9.8....) and still over 2,500 yards passing and 48 tds!! You know who backup QB is? His younger brother Noah. Freshman. Pretty talented kid as well. There is another brother as well in 7th grade, Levi who shows a lot of talent as well. Just seems like the talent keeps brewing in our little town here in SE MN. Pretty neat stuff.

Here we go again boys! Warriors play in the state championship game friday at 1pm. They come into the game with a 40-0 record. Last week they had the third string kids in already during the third quarter. The last two games we played against teams that were averaging over 40 points per game. Held Minneapolis North (who knelt for the National Anthem by the way...) who were avg. 47 points per game to a big fat 0 points 38-0. Paynesville last week was 42-0 at half time. They managed to score 16 points against our third stringers 49-16. If they win friday it will be Caledonia's 2nd three-peat of state championships in the last 10 years.

My son is playing tomorrow also in the state finals for Cloquet. He's a sophomore OT and DT and the town is pretty excited. First trip to the finals in 41 yrs. his class has been pretty dominant for the past 4 years, Jr High and JV so hopefully we get a few more of these trips before he's done. Good luck tomorrow!

We watched the end of that game while waiting for our game. They looked tough. Our game unfortunately didn't go as well, we lost 14-0 to Holy Angels Academy. Its tough to compete with the private schools that recruit students for their teams. Very proud of my son and his team mates though, they represented our town well all fall.

Another year and yep you guessed it another Class 2A state championship!! Game just got over. Caledonia 21 Barnesville 0!! 4 state championships in a row and #9 since 2007. Proud of those kids!! Oh and Coach Fruechte hates hearing about it but Caledonia has the longest current winning streak in the nation right now at 54. Just some stats for you guys

[h=4]BY THE NUMBERS[/h]22: Consecutive seasons with a winning record. The Warriors were 4-5 in 1996.
46: Victories in a row in games played at Caledonia. The Warriors last lost a home game in a 17-3 setback at the hands of P-E-M on Sept. 2, 2011.
53: Current winning streak in games. Caledonia’s last loss was 21-0 to BOLD in a Class AA state semifinal in Eden Prairie in Nov. 15, 2014.
63: Consecutive wins in regular-season games. P-E-M was the last to beat the Warriors in that 2011 game.
98-2: Record in last 100 games. The two defeats are to BOLD and a 13-10 overtime loss to Chatfield on Nov. 1, 2013.
152-6: Record over last 12 seasons. The losses have been by a combined 47 points with two by more than seven points and three by three or less.
204-27: Record since 2000. Thirteen of the 19 seasons have ended with at least 10 victories.
1,469: Days since Caledonia last lost a football game.

This was in todays paper so now the streak is at 54 games. But like I said don't bring that up to Coach Fruechte. In his words "we are just trying to be 1-0, 1-0, 1-0"

Heres the welcome home party... That train goes through downtown and you would think it was the 4th of July parade. People on the streets cheering. I drove a firetruck last year bringing em home. It was quite a site!!

Well boys guess what?? Another year. Another Championship!! 5th consecutive class 2A State Title. We just beat a very tough Minneapolis North team 26-0!!! With the longest winning streak in the USA at 68 games. Thats right Caledonia Football has not lost a game since November of 2014. November of 2014!! The stats are incredible. In just the State Championship games the last 11 consecutive quarters have been shut outs. MN North's running back had over 2,000 rushing yards this season. Was bragging about how he was gonna run all over us and Caledonia hasn't ever seen a team like theirs. Our boys are humble and just let their play speak for it self. By bringing home the championship once again!!!
