Building a ew northwoods garage..........looking for ideas

Never understood the problem with a garage floor drain.
The alternative is the same mess getting sqweegied out the overhead door to seep down into the ground at that point.

Yep in my new garage the plumber has to put the drain exit where "sunlight can see it" MN code. So how would a guy keep that from freezing?? He told me that what I do after inspection is up to me though....

Yeah my drain runs out on the side of garage towards property line. The inspector had no problem with it. I do live in the country.
Off course I don't let oil or antifreeze drain into the floor drain.

We also plumbed a bathroom in the concrete but concreted over it so I wouldn't have to deal with sanitary permits and red tape crap.
