What are my options? I would like to get it fixed and keep it. 2006 1000sdi ski doo..4500 miles..mag side (brake)
The other cylinder had 150 psi and looks good
I was giving her hard all day (106 miles) when she went dead at 115mph

theres no light scratches.. deep and nasty..looks like part of the cylinder flaked off and became part of the rings

What caused that?

Taking the cheapest way possible. Send out head to Millenium (300). Used piston w/rings (35). new gaskets(26). Ride her till she blows in the crank. Save up for new engine.

Not 100% sure what caused it had 6500 miles on it. Was running good then just stopped running. The y pipe on the exhaust was cracked in the middle, some people say that, others say stock needles. When rebuilt I shimmed the needles because I read alot about that being a cause of 800 meltdown.
Can't find other pic I had but it was a clean cut down the middle the ring was only thing holding it together.

Might want to think about a crankshaft with that many mile, depending on how many more years you want out of the sled. I know if there is nothing wrong with the crank it becomes harder to justify, but I know if some one told me I would only get 4 years out of my top ends then blow the bottom end out. I would have put the money in it then. But it's a gamble either way.
Just something to think about.

I've decided to splitt the lower case and dig around also. Probally replace some bearings and seals. I love the power of this beast and don't want any regrets.
