We have ridden most of the UP except central looking for a nice cabin Looked at Alger falls they seem to have a couple of nice cabins looking to spend around $100 a night ,near trail and fuel probably around 4 of us any suggestions would be appreciated.I also heard they had problems with grooming last year did they get that problem fixed. Also what trails should we ride or not miss around that area we mostly trail ride. thanks

My group has stayed at Alger Falls a few times in both the cabin and the motel rooms....great place and great people.....they have a heated garage if you need to wrench and close to gas & food....trails & 2 tracks every direction.....I would recommend going east towards Grand Marais & Seney....the Crazy 8's & the Kingston Plains are AWESOME!! ;)

There is a guy by the name of Zeek that owns Otter Lake Campgrounds. Running water lots of beds, heat etc. If anything like the campgrounds the cabins are pretty clean and cozy. Snowmobiler friendly. No heated garage though. There is another place just down the road from there just past the buckhorn. Motel style with heated garage simple game room/lounge no bar.

Call George at the WhiteFawn.com They have a bunch of cabins. If you are coming to the area, do you want to stay in town or get off the beaten path?
You have tons of options either way.

X2 for the Whitefawn. George is a great guy and has nice places. I believe he has an area where you can work on stuff.

I've stayed at this place and it was nice. It's an A frame cabin that is on doe lake road not far from the Buckhorn lodge where you can get gas and food.

Also stayed at this place during the summer. Curly is the guy who owns it and is really easy to deal with. He has two places in Autrain we stayed at the bigger cabin that will sleep 8 single people (more if couples) and another place that will sleep 4 singles.

Kouws - Next door to the west of me. He has 2 cabins. Come prepared so you dont have to go to the store often. Its a hike. Decent place.
