Cabins around Calumet/Ahmeek area, suggestions.

Just wondering if anyone here has a line on a cabin around Calumet area for a group of 5-8 guys?

Every year I do a small atv ride somewhere in the upper and this year we would like to do the Keweenaw, unfortunately I'm have trouble finding anything around this area. Ultimately I'm looking for something that has a kitchen, sleeps everyone under one roof, isn't right in town and for <$200 a night. I've looked through several websites (VRBO and such) and the few cabins I found weren't really centrally located or in town and more of a house than something suitable for atv ride.

I've considered Centennial and have stayed there before but the cabins are too small. I really like the Wildlife Refuge cabins but they really are just too far south and would require trailering.
Ideas?

There are cabins at Lac LaBelle as well as at the Mariner in Copper Harbor that could accommodate you.-Mezz

Thanks Mezz,
Yep checked those out as well. Bear Belly does have one that is big enough but has to be booked for a week. Everything else around Lac LaBelle Copper Harbor is set up for families (2 queens), not a group of dudes. May just have to do a couple small cabins.

This is probably a great option, but it looks like it's booked unless your coming mid week. http://www.ahmeekstreetcarstation.com/vacationrental/Welcome.html

Check with Chad at MM in Hancock. He has some rental units and may have some openings. It may be a little south for you, but at least you're on the north side of the bridge and don't have to worry about any escorts. (I'm not talking about the kind that cost you money so don't let your mind wonder! :) )

That's a mighty strange looking web site:

Does it look like that for you?
[Edited: Strange, the original link now works for me. (What the heck was that?)]
In the immortal words of Gilda Radner as Emily Litella, on Saturday Night Live, circa 1975-1978):
"Never mind."

But just in case: This is a good link: (click →) Ahmeek Streetcar Station.

Thanks for the info and I'll try to steer clear of the UP escorts!
