I'm bracing for my home owners insurance renewal in June. With the dollar figure of homes, business, dwellings that will be approaching hundreds of billions of dollars we're all going to be paying for it down the road. Though I think a lot of these places don't have fire insurance as it's not even offered in CA. anymore so maybe the impact will be minimal.

It won't matter. My general farm insurance policy went up again with no claims on it in years. Way too many Ultra High $$$ weather events. Massive Floods, Hurricanes, Tornadoes, Wild Fires, etc. You name it, if you want to play you have to pay, eh.
I've got a question....If there's a mortgage on the home, isn't insurance required by the lender? If your insurance is cancelled and you can't get a new policy, what happens? Most likely, a majority of these losses had a mortgage, but no insurance, how does that happen?

I believe that most homeowners that were canceled then defaulted to the state run program called FAIR, I saw today that claims will total $6 billion and the fund on has $700 million in it to cover. I’m sure being them being the liberal state that they are the building materials will all have to approved. And no natural gas , just all electric, and god knows what other green stipulations will be enforced.
Don't forget to add the 2020 Riots in that list. That cost the insurance companies over a billion thanks to the politicians that let it continue so longIt won't matter. how about we order 2 of those plastic fireman costumes off of amazon for Newsom and Bass, give each of them a bucket of water, and lets be generous here give them a 1 gallon bucket of water and drop them both right into the belly of the beast and tell them to put the fire out.
Just what does any politics have to do with these LA fires? Seems it's the extended winds, very low humidity, and the severe lack of rainfall since Sept, Oct, that are the big culprits in reality? The weather, eh? Kind of like our lack of snow? Politics? We have aunts, uncles, and many cousins out there who have now had to evacuate, and have been burned out after living in their homes for 60 plus years. Nevada, and Arizona are both now running out of water. My sister, and family live in Arizona, along with many friends. We also have cousins in Nevada. I'm a realist, and don't deal in wishful thinking, thus I have never known of the weather to be politically motivated? However it seems the political players, on both sides, like to play the weather card for their own political gain. Sad. It's very terrible situation occurring out there for sure. But to each his own. I'm done.

You must be out of touch of the choices Newsom has made for his state regarding where he chooses to route fresh water, operation of his fire hydrants, and whom he’s placed in charge along with funding that has been cut… Not to mention there is video after video of criminals creating fires across LA to make matters worse. Sad indeed, and I pray those who have lost their homes can find resolution.Just what does any politics have to do with these LA fires?
If you think this is a "California Problem", take a look at today's Dow Jones Average. Plenty of pain to go around.
