California wildfires

Many will likely relocate and rebuild in NV and AZ, and continue to vote the same way…
That post is why I wish we had a thumbs down,. Not to disagree but to agree acknowledging a bad thing.

That's what will happen to a large extent. Some seem to be changing their beliefs which is a positive sign but there are the die hard nuts that will move to a free state but think their ways are still better. I have cousins that did that exact thing. It's nuts

Just what does any politics have to do with these LA fires? o_O Seems it's the extended winds, very low humidity, and the severe lack of rainfall since Sept, Oct, that are the big culprits in reality? The weather, eh? Kind of like our lack of snow? Politics? We have aunts, uncles, and many cousins out there who have now had to evacuate, and have been burned out after living in their homes for 60 plus years. Nevada, and Arizona are both now running out of water. My sister, and family live in Arizona, along with many friends. We also have cousins in Nevada. I'm a realist, and don't deal in wishful thinking, thus I have never known of the weather to be politically motivated? However it seems the political players, on both sides, like to play the weather card for their own political gain. Sad. It's very terrible situation occurring out there for sure. But to each his own. I'm done.
Unfortunately Politics IS part of this. Not that political leaders can control weather conditions but we rely on them to run things and to plan for the worse. For example, the southeast has well planned procedures on how to react afterwards from a hurricane and strategies on evacuation prior to landfall. I've been hearing for years that California is not managing the brush correctly and like Indy said the water supply. To spend billions on illegal migrants and not fortifying the water supply knowing the fires would be coming is insanity. The NWS warned them the conditions were ripe and the mayor leaves. I could go on and on but YES politics is a part of this and if the people of California hadn't voted in these idiots who knows, maybe the fires could have been contained better?? We might never know but we have to at least try. What have you got to lose? Instead of CUTTING the fire departments budget and then spend billions on foreigners clearly shows absolutely idiotic leadership from the politicians

I've got a question....If there's a mortgage on the home, isn't insurance required by the lender? If your insurance is cancelled and you can't get a new policy, what happens? Most likely, a majority of these losses had a mortgage, but no insurance, how does that happen?
If there is a mortgage on a property & the customers insurance was cancelled, the bank would force place insurance coverage which would only be for the amount of the outstanding loan amount. There would be no personal liability coverage or personal property coverage for the policy, just the loan. The customer would not be able to rebuild with this form of insurance, it only protects the lender. The premium for this is very expensive as well, 2-3 times more than a traditional homeowners policy with substantially less coverage.
One of the largest insurers, State Farm, began withdrawing & non-renewing policies in a number of states to include the Palisades in California. I doubt that everyone in the Palisades were without insurance, nonetheless, this event will have an enormous impact on building materials as well as the cost of insurance. Insurances have been on the increase for some time due to the cost to repair, replace, rebuild in all sectors. This is a vicious never ending cycle & must be controlled somehow as it can't continue the way it is as affordability is unattainable for many.

Not sure on insurance situation. I imagine they have insurance but maybe doesn't cover fires? Don't know.
Ya the bureaucratic red tape they'll have to go thru to rebuilt,, it'll be years before there will be houses up.
Bill Maher the liberal talk show host who as of the last couple years is starting to come to his senses politically. Took him 3 years to get thru the red tape to build a solar shed on his property. 3 years for a solar shed that the state is promoting. I imagine houses that were along the PCH they won't even allow them to be built there to save the turtles.

If you think this is a "California Problem", take a look at today's Dow Jones Average. Plenty of pain to go around.
Yep, you have to deal with reality, as reality will surely deal with you! All true fact. All of the poisonous political fighting BS, and their false reality lies, harm us all. It's like a war with in us, doing no one any good. The 'professional politicians' are the only winners, $$$, not us. Like it or not, there's way, way too much BS&L's on both sides. Just look where it got us. And no, I'm not out of touch. I'm just real, not interested in all the BS..

Yes, but some may change their vote. I mean, how long can you really be that stupid?
Well...look at Floroida where hurricanes hit quite consistenly and we just keep rebuilding and keep getting destroyed. Good luck getting flood insurance even when it was subisidized by taxpayers. All natural disasters have impacts to them and we (politicians, businesses, individuals) downplay their impacts without proper building standards and scream for taxpayer bailouts....over and over and over again.
I stayed in a beach front bungalo in Mexico made entirely of concrete, the outlets were even higher up. I talked to the owner and he told me that if a hurricane hits all he has to do is powerwash out the place, throw away the mattress and basically hes back in business......thats proper planning.

Spot on durphee! Yes, Florida has their problems also, the weather. Doesn't seem as the politics fixed that any. Its been like that. My wife's oldest brother bailed out of Florida 25 years for that exact reason, $$$. And it's 20 times worse to deal with now. So it goes

Depends on how long they live...... LOL
Hmmm, perhaps 'vote' these fires out, and save the water, eh? The scandalous misinformation, and disinformation on this situation, LA fires is outrageously disgraceful from whom ever they come from. Unreal.

What goes down will come back up. The underlying cause of the stock market downturn is inflation rearing its head again when it never was under control imo. The Fed said no more rate cuts in the short term due to inflation and some investors were already factoring in 2-3 rate cuts. Fools imo it will take time stop inflation thanks Joe!

Not arguing with you I’m confused as to the point…
Are you saying they can’t do anything different?

I’m sooooo done with “didn’t earn it” , I do not care if it’s illegals in Chicago or New York or hurricanes in Florida or floods in North Carolina or fires in California and Hawaii but odds are that the most qualified person is not a black lesbian woman lol

I feel bad for them but you reap what you sow sometimes
