Can Dogs Tell Time?

As a reminder to set the clocks ahead one hour unless you live in Arizona or Hawaii, two hotbeds of snowmobiling if there ever was.

But to answer the question, Yes our dog can tell time. Dinner time is at 5 p.m. and every night at 9 p.m. she comes to me in the Family Room with that look...."I need to go out and Pee" then she comes in and goes straight to bed. She knows it's Saturday cause Dad's home in the morning. I'm not bragging, it's just uncanny that she just knows what day it is and what time. I guess that's why they seem almost human.
Now, if I can get her to show me how to change the clock in the wife's car, we'll really have something!

How about yours?

I got this pathetic face this morning, yep 10 month old little pup Ria has an internal hunger clock
That is one pathetic look. The "experts" say they don't have a sense of time. Maybe that's mostly true with regard to the passage of time but I do believe they have some kind of internal clock where they associate a time with a particular event. Our Pomeranian will start bugging my wife to go to bed almost at exactly the same time every night. He seems to think he can't turn in for the night in his spot under the bed unless she's in bed.

Think there's a lot we don't know about what these little critters know.

I have to say that I take a particular interest in all the dog related stories, I remember having dogs and all the happiness they brought,
One thing in particular I remember was when my black lab was a pup, there was another dog that had a cast from a broken foot and because of the broken foot the other dog would eat sitting down, well my black lab pup learned that from the other dog with the cast and would always eat sitting down, after that for the rest of her life she always ate sitting down…
Some things make you remember the great experiences you had with your fur buddy…
