I just p/u an old Yamaha 250 Inticer for my son its a single carb it runs great but the air box on it is gone I was thinking of putting on one of those after market clamp on breathers but i noticed some of them said rejetting might be required.Really do not want to do that, dont know the first thing about it. Is there an after market breather that wont require rejetting or can i just get away with just anyone and not worry?

rejetting is super easy, do you know how to take apart a carb and clean it? also, it's not always required, you could put the "breather" or whatever you wanna put on it, run it, check your spark plugs to see how they look and if they look lean, then rejet

alright, when you take the float bowl off, at the bottom of the carb there is a brass screw, which is the main jet. all you do is unscrew it and put a newer bigger one in. They're like $5 a piece. not all jets are the same, some have some spring loaded mabobber and whatnot on em, so hopefully someone can chime in that has worked with this particular sled.

If my mind serves me right those carbs are the old style diaphram carb and adjustment for changing the fuel mix is the screw in the bottom of the diaphram. Get yourself and air box. Good to go.
