Castle X Gear - How do you like it?

The wife saw a pink Castle X suit (jacket and pants) and now wants one. For those of you that wear this (Castle X Gear no the colors), how do you like it? Looking for pros and cons. and if she'll be happy with it. Also, are there any larger dealers in the SE WI area?

Thanks a lot.

I have Castle my jacket is are '01 series rizer and love it. Just as good as the day I bought it with the excption of 2 things. 1.) I have resewed the inside of one pocket twice (most likely me over loading it) and 2.) I have one zipper that sticks.

I bought my wife the Pink FXR gear last year b/c found a better deal on that one. I have not had it as long but seams to be just as nice.

On thing to think about is make sure you consider, which was pointed out to me last year when buying my wife's gear was to get gear that is mainly black with highlights of a color. The light colors will tend to get dirtier more often which means more washings and less life out of the gear.
Good luck!

I got the Switch jacket about two weeks ago. I love it. It is very warm, windproof, even at high speeds. The collar is nice and high, meets the back of my helmet and helps with keeping my neck warm, which had been a problem for me.
I got my jacket in white (with black and gray), maybe not such a good idea. It is absolutely beautiful but it's amazing how dirty I get riding a snowmobile.

My first castle jacket and bibs where back in 02'. I still have the jacket,But the bibs only lasted one season.Zipper and velcro both wore out. Then i bought my son a castle jacket a few years ago and it lasted 2 seasons and the zipper broke. And you would think i had learned my leason! NOPE! I bought a switch jacket and pants in 06' along with there snocross boots. The zipper on the jacket lasted two seasons and the inner stitching on the pockets came undone,The velcro on the bottom of the pants came off,and the metal hooks on the boots that hold the laces on broke. I even e-mailed castle a dozen times and no responce at all! I had my sons and my jacket zippers fixed so i have them as a backup(or something to wipe the wet dogs on after a bath). But now i wear Klim and will never go back to castle! Its just poorly made....Try to get her a pink Klim jacket! She'll be more happy in the long run.

i had a pair of castle bibs for 3 years and in those 3 years i put on about 7500 miles with them. they held up great. i outgrew them (i'm a kid) and i gave them to my sister and they're still in great condition. zippers r all good and no rips or tears.

I've got the 07' Switch jacket and pants. Couldn't be happier, very nice during cold and warm days. I've riddin in some pretty cold weather and have never felt cold. On the jacket I like how the back has the nice tail on it to keep snow dust from going up your jacket. I also got the kit that zips into the pants to make them bibs, was about $20 bucks and is really nice for stand up riding.

Have the Rizer jacket and the bibs, and like them! Really like the cell phone pocket inside the liner. Only complaint is that the gloves I haven't had much luck with, bought the cheaper set last year and after one ride the thumb tore open in the seam, returned them paid the extra twenty for a different set and the thumb on the other hand split this winter.. I'd say it was something I'm doing if it would have been the same hand.
Wife has a Switch jacket and likes it for riding.

My future stepson has the orange Switchback jacket and pants and my fiance' has the white Switchback jacket and pants, and they have been great. They both love them! No zipper or velcro problems in 3 seasons so far.

Thanks a lot for all the responses everyone. Looks like I'm going shopping. Have a great weekend.

Hey Madddod I'm in the Hartford area too. If you find any deals on kids jackets please let me know, pm or post here. Thanks

My kids wear Castle and they have held up very well and my kids are rough on clothes. But now I need a bigger size.

I bought a CR2 jacket in '02 and I've been very pleased with it. It's seen 15,000+ miles & 3 different sleds. Not a rip or tear to be seen. Only real signs of wear are that the reflective piping is starting to crack. I typically dry clean it once per season.

Bought another CR2 this year because of a switch in sled color.

Of all the brands I've tried on, Castle seems to fit me best too.

Will do. I'm thinking that someone is going to have some deals late in the season or to clear out.

I was at Cedar Creek a few days ago, they had some Castle stuff on sale. I was only looking for kids stuff (which they didn't have) and didn't have much time so I don't know how good the deals were for adult sizes. You may want to call them if you're still looking.

Have you guys tried Woolen Mill in West Bend? I bought my kids their snowmobile coats and bib's there. I love the pants! They the cuff of the pants snap up so they will last more than on season!
