Arctic Cat Inc. (NASDAQ:ACAT), a company specializing in the manufacture and sale of all-terrain vehicles and snowmobiles, has recently paid $79.3 million to Suzuki Motor Corp. in a buyback of 6.1 million outstanding shares, bringing their outstanding shares down to 12.3 million.

In addition, Suzuki’s representative board member has resigned, bringing the number of directors to seven.

Arctic Cat will continue to use Suzuki as a supplier of parts, including snowmobile engines, for at least the next two years.

AC in better shape than they have been in years. Everything has been restructured and they are ready for the long haul. This is a very good thing. Things are going so well they are even being sued by BRP.

Seems like a strange move to me to go away from Suzuki engines. People claim about Cats behind heavy (twin spar), bad fit and finish, but you don't hear any complaints about the engines.

This was in our paper a little over a week ago. They said Arctic Cat paid cash to buy the shares back and also has no long term debt. The dealers struggle but the factories are doing great.
