Changed Relay, still no spark

Yesterday I started a thread about no spark on my 04 800 Renegade. I changed the relay but still have no spark. Any other suggestions?

If you have an ohm/continuity tester test your kill switch to make sure it is actually activating. If I remember correctly you wrote something in there about taking it apart.

not to state the obvious, but, make sure the DESS is on tight and is the correct one. The kill switch you can bypass, but not the DESS.

yes I did disassemble the kill switch so I will try the ohms tester.

It is my understanding that if the DESS is on improperly the sled should still start, just not get above 2700 RMP which does not allow the secondary clutch to engage, rendering the sled immobile. Not like I'm a genius at this stuff so I REALLY appreciate the feedback. Thank you to all that have replied.

I'm going to take it in and have the dealership test the system, I believe it is the stator, I was hoping there was some way to tell if that is the case.

Any more suggestions would be appreciated, I'm bringing the sled in at 6pm, I would rather use the $95 they are going to charge me to test it towards parts.

check the spark plug boots they can wear out and get bent, they're pretty cheap and i'm pretty sure every sleds boots just screw on and off

Yea with a dess it should still start. I have mistakenly put the wrong ones on before and it will start just ding ding ding when you try to rev. But if it isn't down all the way it may not let it spark. Could be spark plug boots but I would lean toward a regulator also. That would be a lot cheaper then a stator. Now sure how much they cost now but I would say close to $500 by the time you get done with labor.

regulator is for the lighting system, charge coil is seperate from that. Probably a wire harness loose or bad contact somehwere. Let us know what the dealer finds out.

Oh yea, my mistake. I went back a read the original post. Reg is for lighting. Could be part of another problem but not the spark problem. I am not sure if you can just unhook your kill switch and pull over to see if you have spark.(on older sleds you could do this)
