Chicago to Bergland...which route?

Fastest route- 94 north, 894 bypass, 41 north to oshkosh, 45 north to Watersmeet. East on 2 to stagecoach, stagecoach to East hore Road. If your going to Bergland you could take 45 to Bruce then M28 to bergland. My parents go up 51 its always 25 mins longer. But its a highway easier to pass traffic, 45 is two lanes and you can get stuck behind semi's and sled trailers. My mom feels she'll get lost driving up 45 so she likes highway 51.

John,

You live in Wauconda, right? I am surprised this is faster for you, I figured with being further west it was quicker to head up through Janesville. I may have to try it some time.

I live north suburbs of chicago I take 94 in to milwaukee to 41 north to Oshkosh to 45 bypass to 10 west to 39/51 north. This way I have found to be the fastest

Same way I take up north from Milwaukee. Once they finish the mess in Oshkosh it'll be a nice non-stop 65mph 4-lane all the way to Tomahawk basically

That is flying. My best time is 5;30 from McHenry but that was with no stops. 6 hours is good time for me, then you add the wife and kids to the mix you can easily add almost and hour.

Yea, I was alone with one quick gas stop. It took about 3 hours and a few ice cold ML's to de-stress after that one.

This is the same way I go and the best for time and $ spent on gas. The other way might be faster if you're going 75mph... but if you just go the speed limit this is the fastest. I have tried every different way possible and the only other one that might come close is taking 43 to 29 to 32 to 2.

Thats what my dad says also, but I always beat him by a half hour. Who knows, I just wish it was more like a three hour drive. When I drive up with my buddy we drive way out of the way through Green Bay so we can stop at the Redwood Inn for perch fry(its the best)adds a solid hour or more to the trip.We go up 43 to GB then west on 29 back to 45north.

But if it were only 3 hours the place would always be packed...
