City selling names?

so some kid backed in to my 2mo old truck in a Menard parking lot.
long story short I got a police report.
now 1.5 weeks after the fact I have gotten 7 letters from personal injury lawyers and 5 chiropractors.
all for a 400 bumper spray job
St Louis Park Must be selling names ?
I was in a small fender bender 2 yrs ago diff town close to this one No ambulance chasers

I truly believe that an accident report is public information. Police scanners are on sale at "Radio Shack".

Yup, public record sounds right. It sucks ,but anyone can look stuff like this up if ya know how. Way too many lawyers in this country lookin to get rich for nothing

Can't say for police reports, but fire reports are definitely public record -- anyone could come in and get any report they wanted (of course, we'd charge a small copy fee). EMS reports definitely are not public record. On one hand I'd have to concur with those who say police reports are public record, but on the other hand, I guess it depends on how much detailed personal information they contain (fire reports don't have much).
