My peer at work is good friends with the dad of the pilot who's wing got clipped off. He sent us a FYI via email at work this morning, and my first question was............, how is it that he (the pilot) just so happened to be wearing a chute pack while flying the plane at that time? (Is that common?) He hadn't had a chance to ask the dad yet because of the situation, media frenzy and all, but will be curious to hear more.... Absolute miracle that all escaped without major harm.

wow, in the video you hear the guys put out a yelp and all drop off the plane, crazy stuff right there.

Chris, if you ever find out if the pilot had to scramble around and get a chute on or if he was wearing one at the time of impact would be cool to know

On the news report I saw (abc world news) they said there is spare chute in the plane and he did have to put it on! Think they were talking to someone from the company.

Here you go Lenny, watch the video

All the pilots are required to wear a parachute for the Superior SkyDiving. The owner requires them to wear one incase an incident like this were to happen.
