Back in the fall there was a thread about pizza in the Eagle River area that discussed a few different options. Some people mentioned the deep dish at Club 45 was just like one you get in Chicago and John said he knew the owners back from his days living down there. Well I was passing through the area last night around dinner time and thought I'd stop in and give it a try. It was great! Really had the texture and taste like a true Chicago deep dish. They even have a personal size one that probably would have been the perfect size but I ended up going with the 12" and took half of it home with me. It's right off Hwy 45 on Old 45 just north of Conover, not more than 1/2 mile out of the way. With it being that convenient, I'm sure I'll make a stop there again. Next time I may call ahead to order so they can start cooking it if I'm in a hurry but it worked out great last night. Talked to Dave the owner for a while and he was a real genuine guy. I'm sure some of the other places that were discussed before are good too, but wanted to give a follow-up with my opinion about this one.
