Cold yet Wintery Mix?

Is it because of what the "local TV Weather Comedian" calls a "Pineapple Express" Which
comes from the Hawaii area up and over Alaska back down and forms into a clipper,...
that will cause a "Wintery Mix" when the actual air temps will be in the MID to LOW teens
(predicted) anyway,...???
That seems odd?

I mean,.. by no means am I even an arm-chair weatherman,
But I did sleep at a Holiday Inn Express once,...

But that must mean that upper air must REALLY be WARM ??? HOLY COW??

I know I have been (for fun mostly of course) whining about the extreme drought in our area,...
But now the area TV comedians are even mentioning it.
This is (has been) a Very weird winter for this area. We have had Very BAD snow fall winters before,...
But usually we're talking always enough to sled for sure,... just re-grooming old snow a lot. Never closed
trails for an entire season this deep into it. Holy cow. What a weird weather pattern?

Anyway.

I guess I have to wait to see it mist pineapples. LOL!

Not the pineapple express's fault. That impacts the western US only.

It is just one of those weird situations where the cold air will get trapped near the surface, while the air aloft is mild enough to have the precip fall as something other than pure snow.

You think you have it bad, you should talk to the folks in portions of western and central MN. 1-2" on the ground and barely that much more for the season!
