I booked a trip from Nov 28 to Dec 2. Am I crazy? Has it ever been decent over this time?

I'm feeling extra eager to bend an a-arm on my new snowchecked Polaris I guess...

u could get lucky.
but at least u wont bend a a arm u will just snap the glue joint
skinz are the extra set to buy and bring with u.
direct replacement with no glue joint all Chromalloy.
I think if u are chomping to go the no reservation plan is the only way to go.
southern CO often gets hit early. that time of yr all u can do is follow a storm.
last yr was the first yr in 3 we were able to do our new yr ride.
and we had to go to alpine to do it. rabbit ears was deff a no go

Agreed. Thanks for the info. We'll see what happens.

But you peaked my interest in the glue joint... Glue on the aarm? Or are you referring to the running boards?

Some guys are already riding Tog.

Although I was talking to the owner of our local sled shop who was working on an a-arm and front cooler that were destroyed by one of said rides!

with a hit the pro lower a will bust at the glue joint in the center of the arm.
I saw 2 in my crew last yr.
both replaced with skinz. with discounts from 1 in ore crew skinz ended up cheaper than OEM

He just likes picking on polaris. Not sure why, maybe he just can't afford one. I've seen guys fly over the handlebars after hitting rocks and stumps and not break the glue joints.

I guess he just can't leave it alone, or at least leave it in the thread dedicated to bashing polaris.

Doesn't bother me none, we all go back and forth on this stuff all the time. In the end, he'll ride with anyone and everyone, hoping to put some miles on the Poo with him this year.

been there day after turkey day and that was 5 years ago......have to be epic snow storms to make it worth it "IMO" the year we made it that early the storms stacked up and came over Tog one after another week before...just so you know nothing is open yet in area you can get a deal on rooms in jackson and super 8 in dubois is great deal I dont think I would go that early unless snow was epic becuse there no base yet and you need to know where you can ride and where you cant.....trails are not open OR MARKED yet and for someone who does not know the area that will shut you down right away....

Togwotee technically isn't even open til December 1 so we would have to stay elsewhere. Crooked Creek maybe? I called and there is a guide available for that time. They had similar concerns about snow... Might happen, might not. Maybe Cater would like to do some independent freelance guiding until Togwotee opens??? :p

My first western trip was thanksgiving weekend for 5 years straight. Not to Tog, but other areas of Wyoming. The last two years the snow was too thin to make the trip but we did 5 in a row before that. Some years are good, some were awesome. The deepest "fresh" powder I have ever ridden in was on a thanksgiving trip. It started dumping on Thursday and by sat afternoon there was 6ft of fresh on a 4 ft base. Eric

Yup. Best powder ride I ever had was a trip to the Snowies second week of november. Its hit or miss. Not really something you can plan on ahead of time. Watch the weather channel like some sort of junkie, load up and go to where the storm hits. Only way to do it that early.

Because of the job I hold, I can't freelance...........

Just booked a room at the Main Lodge at Togwotee for Dec 5, 6, and 7! We signed up for a guide for Friday December 6th. I am super excited! Can NOT wait! We are a group of 3.
