Yep, old enough to know better, still dumb enough to leave the chest protector hanging in the closet! Guess what my boys are getting for Christmas?
So I've consulted with my colleagues and reviewed the models. The squirrels seem to be just as confused as I am. They started out going crazy but then kind of petered out. Acorn crop is average and I've only seen 1 woolybear so far. Had a thick stripe. With the wealth of information I gathered, my winter forecast is as follows:
We will start out strong with early snows and cold. Northern WI will see some heavy system snows early on, but will be plagued with several thaws, especially later in the season. LES bands will also be heavy early in the season, but will tend to taper off later in season as well. It will turn out to be an average season for the UP, but I'm sensing a massive late winter/early spring storm.
Southern rockies will get hammered with snow all season. Northern rockies will be average to below average.
Ridding at home? Total crap shoot. We will see a couple decent storms but we will also see a bunch of warmer weather/rain.
....and that's what the old gut is telling me.
