t-struck makes a great point,.....I simply look for items within my driving radius when dealing on used items.
I just recently removed a set of atv tires and a monkey 50 mini bike off of craigs list O.M.G. the scamers e-mails i just plain gave up !! There is a new one out there .. Im interested in your item please go to link and see if this is what you have for sale or somthing like that .. they are getting savey now .. yaaa put your phone number on the ad shure they call you also .. so ive been just having people e-mail me .. ive also noticed alot of TWO good to be true ad's out there .. like For Sale 2009 Yamaha Rino lift kit monster tires off road extras and the list goes on for 2575 bucks .. I happened to write to one the letter i got back stated they would ship it to me from texas and i had to inspect it and if i liked it i only had to pay for item hmmmm scam especially in the back ground of pic is a WI. licence plate on a car .. they wanted paypal info ... No i did not send anything .. Enjoy and have a great winter !!
I know this scam which as others have stated, is clearly explained on Craigs list.
But, I take it a step further. I make like I am ready willing and able, sending out the actual address and then tell them to send the money.
I have a pile of checks I save which takes time and money to send to me. I figure that if everyone recognizes that it is a scam but take them for a "ride" they will eventually give up and stop doing it.
So have fun with it, and turn the tables and give them the business....then laugh at them when they demand the product.
