recently bought a 2002 Arctic cat 800 efi with reverse and took it out for my first ride last night and it ran like crap. Seemed to run fine when first got going but after she warmed up it started cutting out. Don't know much about this particular model and closest cat dealer is over an hour away, any suggestions would be great!!

Thanks in advance..

Take WD-40 and hit the throttle safety switch pin in the handlebar to be sure that it is not sticking...hit with the dope, and flick the throttle while the sled is shut down, about a hundred times to see if the pin is loose and doing what it should be doin...this tiny little safety device can be a pain if it isn't working right. At least is a good cheap place to start....

Need a few more specifics...How warm was it. Full operating temp?? I would say clean carbs but if it constantly starts and runs relitively good cold but does this once warm I would say possibaly stator. I am not sure but I think early to mid 2000 cats had a few stator problems. Is the fuel new, did you dump a little sea foam or stabil in it?? So what boon says first and look for simple things first and go from there. Plug wires/boots and things of that nature.
