I watched it and loved it. I don't know what it is about that show- but it sucks me right in. I was glad that Northwestern & Time Bandit worked out their contract issues with Discovery and are back. I actually like the 2 new boats. Some younger guys running new boats- totally different perspective than the crusty old captains. Not that I don't love those crusty old captains, but nice to see something different. There wasn't anything totally new or crazy. Which is why I don't understand why I get so hooked on this show... they throw pots over the side- they drag them back up- sometimes they're full of crab, sometimes not. That pretty much sums it up. But it's still good.

Pretty funny - Yeah, I watched all two hours of it and once again was fascinated with mostly the same crews doing the same thing. My wife is amazed that I find this show entertaining but then she doesn't understand how I can sit for an hour and watch a Modern Marvels segment about shovels.

Deadliest Catch just seems to have all of the right ingredients: believable characters, a real element of danger (versus manufactured), great camera work, and outstanding editing.

The first episode certainly lived up to the standards we're used to and I'm sure everyone noticed the fact that the closing shot cut away just before the Cornelia Marie hauled it's first pot on board. We'll all be back next week.

Awesome opening to the show

I watched the whole thing and DVR'd it. I thought the opening was awesome and very well done! I also like the younger guys with a different attitude, I think it will be a great contrast, and we'll see who wins!

I watched.those big boats have it made I have a few times been in 15 to 20ft seas in a 45ft gill net boat.scarry excitment! they need to get out on some of those with waves coming at you crashing over the wheel house or catch a bad one and rolling over so far side windows are in the watter out riger totaly out of the watter slaming in to the side of the boat.when I was 13 we were about 80 mi out of kodiak got in to a bad storm a huge wave took out 1 of the wind shields took out all electronics, 1 of the cats died other started running bad.I was seat belted in trying to keep in to the waves. the old man and his bud were straped to the motor down below watter higher than the top of oil pans tring to get it going this went on for what felt like for ever, was close to 3 hr till got both running. still no electronics a steel plate over busted out glass.only time in my life I thought I was going to die. like I said they need to get a crew on some salmon boats or tuna netters some crazy stuff out there. I need to get some of my old picks scaned and put on a disk to post

Watched the whole show and thought it was great!!! The new captain in the Cornelia Marie tried to be a hard azz but, seemed to back off when the engine guy called him out. I'll tell ya, if any of my guys talked to me like that guy talked to the CAPTAIN, they would be gone... on the spot! I don't care who you are, you just don't talk to the boss like that. Especially when he never explained where the heck they were for so long. jmo.

My son and I have watched Deadliest Catch since the beginning. I like the new boats so far this year, and the fact that there is blue and red king crab. It is cool to see Kevin a "Deck Boss" on the Ramblin' Rose. I remember the episode when he went overboard as a greenhorn and survived.
