Was wondering if anyone else has the, Hopper, from Dish?
We had it put in a few weeks ago, and it has had nothing but problems since. It will freeze up while we are watching, and then you have to reset it and it go's through all this set up crap, then somtimes it will work or you will have to do it all over again.
Just was wondering if any of y'all have had any problems?

I've had nothing but problems with dish and their equipment, not to mention the occasional out of the blue price hike. Switched to direct tv last March and have never been happier..

What the heck is the Hopper?

It must be dependent on where people live as I switched from DirecTV due to the price hikes and not will to but on new equip when I was a cust. for 13 yrs.

From the sounds of it, I will be doing the swap every 2 years from now on as long as there is a deal.

what do you guys with dish or direct do for Internet?
I have Media com cable/Internet and am so sick of not having Internet at home or slow then taking time off to get it fixed I am ready to toss all the boxes in the yard and tell them to come pick up there crap off my lawn.
was at dish store yesterday and they were talking all of this looping multiple tv through the hopper,s and what not then get to the Internet part and they say I would have to buy internet thrugh virison more or less cell internet then have to buy gig packages like I do for Ipad.
thinking of doing the Internet part because it would only cost me 20bucks more than I now pay for the xtra I pad service but not sure I know if I get tech in my life streeming movies and stuff cant be done on that type of internet or if it can be it uses alot of gigs .
any input for a guy who has 12:00 flashing on his dvd player lol.
now dont get me started on T mobil 1 more thorn in my side

When I had Direct, I also has ATT Uverse and bundled the two. At the boat I have cable and for internet I have an external antenna that runs thru a usb port. I have about 6 unsecured access points for wireless high speed internet. I connect to the one with the best signal. (I am on it now). At the Condo I just bought it has Comcast cable and I will use comcast internet there to avoid a phone line charge and bundle. I truely like Directv but a dish is not allowed at the condo. I can also plug my Droid into my computer and internet anywhere. (I lucked out and got unlimited internet in my pkg. with Verizon).
My Directv DVR was great.

DirectTv has the same setup NOT called the Hopper. Dish was awful for me too changed to DirectTv & have had super service also NFL Ticket. I will never use Dish again no matter what the price.

I haven't had any issues with Dish. It sucks we can't get AMC but that is the only complaint I have at the moment. We have been with them since December and I'm curious about upgrading to a Hopper. I'll have to read reviews on it before seeing if I can get it.

Keith, not sure if it is an area thing like cell phones have, but Dish is total crap in west Mi and beyond. Hopper is a bigger joke than the commercials it shows. I am signing up for an Xfinity bundle and wish me well.

well i am thinking direct tv as of yesterday with no or spoty internet and spoty hd tv when the cabel guy got to my house to fix againg he was met with a trash bag full of mediacom equpmet after 13 yrs of abuse ready to move on
looks like direct has most options
i am kinda sol on internet guess if you dont have cable in my part of town you cant get highspeed 3 mbps is it si i guess i am just going to go with what i have for the i pad and use virison wireless it has to be better than paying for high speed that only works 3/4 of the time any way

↑Not too mention football on Sundays?????

Does the NFL Ticket get all the games, or how does it work?
Every regular season game, every Sunday, including a red zone channel and mobile watching too either on your phone or computer and it doesn't matter what section of the country you are in. And also just call and tell them you will be resigning from the Ticket due to the expense and they will automatically reduce your Sunday Ticket up to $100 (in my experience) for the year. This year the price to existing Sunday Ticket customers was $300 or $50/month for 6 months. After complaining I am now paying $32/month for 6 months for the Ticket. I have done that three years in a row an have been a DTV customer since 1998.
