I should think it would be worth a 'not in control of machine' ticket at the very least. Maybe even a 'reckless'. Revenue value $150 -$200.

MNUSA should give up on these rides. Seems like every year somebody crashes or gets hurt......all with the media right there to report it.

I went to the Rendezvous this year, thought it was great and would go again...didn't hear anything of this though.

I met and talked to a friend of the guy who was hit yesterday. Apparently when he was hit he was well off the trail (20 feet or so) and the lady driving the sled that hit him lost control and while trying to regain control of her sled grabbed a handful of throttle and launched the sled off into the woods where it hit the guy from behind as he was walking to check on another guy who really blew the corner and hit a tree in the woods.

The inside scoop is the Governor Pawlenty was in that group. The first group out has all of the dignitaries including the Governor. The Gov is what MNUSA is calling a spirited rider, something we call an aggressive rider and he actually is a very good rider. So a lot of the other non experienced dignitaries were trying to keep with him and had problems. I won’t be a problem next year, MN will be getting a new Governor.

You in MN are lucky to have a PRO-SLEDDER Gov. like Pawlenty with all those other goofs youse seem to elect in your state...
I think its great for snowmobiling to have any sled friendly politicians we can get, otherwise please explain why a sledder would EVER vote in one who IS NOT sled friendly,...would seem psychotic to do so,... to me.

snobuilder, we should have a pro-sledder in office. Half the companies that make the machines are based in the state. It would be bad for buisiness to not recognize that fact.

oldguy, I hope you are right about the gov. I assume that it is true. The article mentions the earlier atv incident. Spirited rider. That is one way to say it.

Not sure what you are sayin,....the link won't work for me,...but from some of the posts in this thread it sounds like Pawlenty is a sledder,...and pro-sled, why do you and old guy want him replaced????

Pawlenty is not running. He wants to become the next president!!

Favoritos, I was leading group number 8 that day and the Gov was in group 1.

If this accident had happened in MI the DNR official would have to write themselves a ticket for "careless operation" !!!! :)
