Does anyone have info on lake access from The Pointe Resort in Minocqua?

It sounds like heading west on the access is closed off, only heading East is available. Sounds sketchy. I’m planning on taking the family on a heavy touring and don’t need any trouble. Any further information available from anyone?

From their facebook page. Sounds like you will be ok to head East from the Point on all marked trails on the lake? sounds like there is a 200 yard gap where they are not marking under the HWY 51 bridge at this time.

Snowmobile trail update!
Ice conditions on Lake Minocqua continue to improve, however, open water and thin ice conditions remain. Areas of concern we are aware of include: the thoroughfare between Lake Minocqua and Lake Kawaga, under the HWY 51 bridge, near The Pointe’s docks, and the two thoroughfares exiting Lake Minocqua from Stacks Bay on the eastern most side of the lake (headed to Tomahawk Lake and under HWY 47 E).

We have been told, today (1/23), the trails on Lake Minocqua will be marked beginning 100 yards away from the HWY 51 bridge (both East and West sides). Marking will not occur inside of 100 yards from either side of the bridge, or under the bridge, due to thin ice conditions.

Our snowmobiling guest WILL be able to access Lake Minocqua marked trails from our property, but only heading to the east. Our staff has marked the area below the bridge closest to the shoreline where the ice ranges 10”-16” thick. We’ll continue to monitor the ice conditions and update guests as necessary. Access to the west end of the lake will not be available from our property directly at this time. We ask our guests and other riders to make us aware of anything they see and any concerns or questions you have. It’s so important to keep everyone safe.

Be safe, be smart, stay on marked trails, and enjoy the ride.

Be careful especially on Lake Minocqua if its not marked and you are taking kids out there. Some on here say that you should not have custody of them if you venture out. Now to answer your question. They have been crossing over by the fishing pier and i had heard that guys have been leaving sleds in the boathouse at the Yacht Club and walking over but i would check with the owner.

Be careful is all I can say. We crossed coming from the east side on Friday by the Krist gas station across to the boathouse. We left the marker barrels and heading toward the library to take a side street to the gas station. The whole section to the shore was all slush.

2nd year in a row the Town of Minocqua is allowing someone to benefit their Docks on the SW side of the 51 Bridge to get away with an Unchallenged Aerator, and while foregoing Public Safety at that. Shame, Shame, Shame. The Liable Party I'm sure is known, if not easy to trace through the Electric Usage and Wire ... uh hello .

Money is involved for sure in that Blind-Eye Deal. Question is, Who's going to bear the Liabilty when the Tragedy Occurs due the this Reckless Public Endangerment ?

The Lakeland Times ran articles about this last year. Seasons changed and out of sight - out of mind, and here we are again.

Something SURE changed, always used to be froze and marked. Weird year for lake ice, NOT GOOD. Sounds like some ol Il. politics going on in town.
