I have 2 High Lift snowmobile Jacks (
www.snow jacker.com). They are absolutely awesome! Seriously, I will not go out in the mountains without it. For an older guy (52) like me, it is nice to give my back a break from digging and lifting my sled out. 3 nights ago, I had to leave my sled in the mountains over night (long story). Buddy and I snow shoe'd up to get it the next day. It was totally frozen into it's tomb. The High Lift yanked it right out.
However, your question was about the Powder Jack which is a different product. I have heard really bad things about the Powder Jack. First of all, it seems the Powder Jack guy totally copied the High Lift Jack. Second, and more importantly, it appears Snow Jack uses inferior materials for the rod. It gets scored up very quickly and then fails.
I would definitely recommend the High Lift Jack. To make sure you have the right one, make sure it has the name of the inventor, Bill Harmon, on the web site.
BTW...I have no ties to this product. Just a very satisfied customer.
