Yesterday was a busy phone day for me, panic over the "potential" of what the media was once again beating into peoples heads, which here ended up just being wet pavement. This morning on a certain cable provided news channel... " we are watching a much more major snow storm for Thursday" wait a minute? much more major? as compared to what? the snowmageddon we just had last night? uuuugh! have we again forgotten where we live? I just have to laugh and question when 1-3" became a major winter storm?
If this falls under no posting of weather reports please remove, but just trying to make a point of how ridiculous the news and media have become. I'll be at the grocery store getting my milk, bread and water before mother nature unleashes her self on Thursday. :confused2:

The media's job is to over exaggerate EVERYTHING! To place fear into everyone's thoughts. It's become rather RIDICULOUS.

News is no longer about reporting news, its now about creating news.....scoring ratings for revenue.....oh and keeping the sheeple in line.

The best thing that could happen for this country and the people that live in it is TO GET RID OF ALL 24 HOUR NEWS STATIONS!!! ALL OF THEM. IF I NEVER HEAR THE WORDS "BREAKING NEWS" EVER AGAIN IT WOULD BE TO SOON!! Sorry for the rant but seriously. Think if we had 24 hour feel good stories on the news. Instead of all this fake news BS from both sides!!!

Well i live in Illinois and I love how people rush to the grocery store for a winter storm. Never thought people couldn't survive on the rations at home for 24-36 hours....at most. Well, unless the beer stock is getting low.

What really cracks me up is the people in the UP driving in the snow. In the Chicago suburbs, if there is a dusting, the salt trucks go out and people want to see the streets "running water." Everyone drives like they are scared crapless. Go up to the UP and in a blinding snowstorm the locals are driving like it's Talladega. I can't do it, but I'm super impressed by those that do!

And then there's this (click →) How to Turn Left in the UP (YootToob video, 27 seconds. Yee-Haaaa!

(Northbound on Bridge Street, turning left on West Houghton Avenue.)

How to turn left.jpg
The yellow house on the left has been painted blue, and the red brick building on the NW corner is the Sherwin-Williams Paint Store.
