I had my kids try the soap one time, we were telling tales of when I was young and the things I did ..... ( $#@%& ) and so on & so forth.... They wanted to taste it ??? OK
They just find it amusing ( all my screw ups ) then their friends come over and they want me to tell them ????
I try to stay OFF topic..........

I would tell my kids when they said, "You can't hit me" that you have to have a body to have a crime. And I would look out at the river in my front yard. This worked well with the neighbor kids too. Just put that idea in their heads and all of a sudden no problems and I became Mr. Riemersma to the neighborhood kids and not hey Wayne.

Back in High School my Principal name was Mr. Riemersma.

Drugged by my parents......

I don't know if anyone has seen this before, but, I thought I would share this with you all...

Different drug problem......

The other day, someone at a store in our town read that a Methamphetamine lab had been found in an old farmhouse in the adjoining county & asked me a rhetorical question, "Why didn't we have a drug problem when you & I were growing up?"

I replied, I had a drug problem when I was young, I was drug to church on Sunday morning. I was drug to church for weddings & funerals. I was drug to family reunions & community socials no matter what the weather.

I was drug by my ears when I was disrespectful to adults. I was also drug to the woodshed when I disobeyed my parents, told a lie, brought home a bad report card, did not speak with respect, spoke ill of the teacher or the preacher, or if I didn't put forth my best effort in everything that was asked of me.

I was drug to the Kitchen sink to have my mouth washed out with soap if I uttered a profanity. I was drug out to pull weeds in mom's garden & flower beds. I was drug to the homes of family, friends & neighbors to help out some poor soul who had no one to mow their yard, repair a clothesline, or chop some firewood, &, if I took a single dime as a tip for this kindness, I would have been drug back to the woodshed.

Those drugs are still in my veins and they affect my behavior in everything I do, say or think to this day. They are stonger than cocaine, crack, heroine or meth, and if today's children had this kind of drug problem America would be a much better place.

God Bless the parents who drugged us.

All I can add, is Amen!!!-Mezz .

Dang it I think I am still being drugged by my parents. The thing is I like this kind of drug it is how the world should operate.

My gosh mezz, you just made me relive the negative side of my childhood, except for the woodshed. My dad was a "bend over and grab your ankles" kind of guy. Didn't matter where or in front of who... store, gram-ma's house, friends, cousins etc. The embarrassment was worse than the belt! He was an excellent dog trainer and I believe his theory was to correct the behavior during the course of act.

PS, I don't have two legged Kids and my furry ones are very well behaved. (NO I don't beat them)
Hope dad doesn't see this, my butt just had a twinge. :)
