Quit worrying guys! Brought my girlfriend up there for the day for her first time out by herself! She loved it. We parked in town and headed north to Conover area then headed west/southwest and dropped into st Germain for a late lunch at the 19th hole - which had fantastic food. Then headed back to ER on the short trek along hwy 70. Now yesterday got up to 43 and dropped down to 25ish at night so it firmed up and never got over 35 today, not a ton of sun either. Everything had an awesome hard hardpack base and was pretty flat and fast especially the st Germain area trails which had NO barespots. All clubs did awesome working with what little snow they had! In town heading north the trails were plenty fine. A little snirty. The trail along hwy 70 coming into the west side of eagle river had A LOT of bare spots though and definitely needs the snow thats on the way tomorrow night... Driving along hwy 70 is definitely not a good indicator of how the majority of the trails were fwiw. So long story short 90% of the trails ridden today were VERY GOOD, and the "thaw" is over, hopefully tomorrow night brings more snow than rain to the northwoods, and then temps drop back to normal and the rest of the month and winter turns out awesome!

Amazing how a woman can change things for the better, eh. Happy to hear you 2 had a good rides Indy. Sound as if you got a snowmobiler gal too, not bad at all. Good luck to the both of you.

X2. Was up with the family in St Germain and observed the same. A few icy corners but didn't matter as we weren't pushing things with the kids aboard. Overall a great weekend with little to no traffic. Thanks to the local clubs for their efforts!

I'll add that I overheard the hotel I was staying at was sold out or near sold out for the coming weekend (Holiday weekend). So, take in mind it will be high traffic and we all know how fast condition will change so expectations should be measured accordingly.
