Been riding Yamaha's for 36 years, haven't had to go to a chiropractors office.
Did you long travel your SRX? Did you do the 2002 Viper shock exchange? Did Maximum Performance have to re-valve your shocks? Did you enjoy the ride of the RX-1 before it went mono? Are you happy that they joined forces with Cat so they could finally make some good suspensions? I've owned four Yamahas. Great engines no doubt, but I got tired of going broke trying to make the thing ride comfortably and not dart down the trail.

Not hard to understand with Ski Doo playing to the geriatric crowd.
You will see them directly in front of you doing 35 mph so they can stop at the bar and explain the superiority of their no (zero)performance 4 stroke getting 25 mpg's....elderly snowflakes saving the planet.

if you had 205 HP under you, your OMG would be better spent.....52.1 HP 4 stroke....we need legislation so everyone has one...

- - - Updated - - -

why would I???? strange question....you must ride a no (zero) performance Ski-Doo.

C.RAP,...you Doo guys better have a meeting to come up with an answer to why Ski-Doo isn't running away with this pole.....L O L.

Heh, heh..you said pole.

Well, it's good we don't have 75 manufacturers like in the early years or we'd blow up the Internet with all the arguing.:rolleyes3:

I know im biased, like most of us, but to me it seems like i see more cats on the trail then what this post shows. Or do i see what i only wannt to see? lol. Doesnt really matter what you ride, as long as you enjoy riding!

From looks of the poll I'd have to say the Viper has been a hit for Yamaha. Can't see them wanting to build there own sleds without more volume in market place.
Don't think your can go wrong with any of them.....as long as it has a warranty!!

What is this 52.1 hp ACE you speak of?

I gave it the benefit of my doubt....no way anyone gave a rats butt enough interest to actually dyno one like the Yamaha Sidewinder, now have they????

THANK YOU SKI-DOO FOR GOING BACK TO THE FUTURE AND BEING THE BRIGGS AND STRATON OF THE SLEDDIN' WORLD!

xcsp, snowbuilder is just pulling your chain. gary_in_neenah, you will enjoy your new ride so much more than you expect to. Have yet to meet anyone that doesn't. I with some hesitation, bought one for my wife. I have never enjoyed riding so much as I do on that 900 renegade!!! I have no need or want for a 205hp sled. I'll leave those for those who do. But, if I were to want one, I would definitely buy the AC Thunder Cat as it is set up much better than the Yam imo. And without AC, there would be no SW.

First time I rode a 600 Ace, I can only explain the feeling as driving a 500 Polaris Sportsman ATV, kind of bizarre.

Bear,

Your figures are a little off. First the MSRP was under 17 as you stated and that was for the LE models only which have the best OEM shocks ever offered from any manufacturer. The SE package has standard shocks and can be had for a lot less. Here's an example for ya... I snow checked the 18 LTX-LE 50th anniversary, I purchased the sled for $14,871 out the door and that included the 5 year warranty. I know the 18 SE models were close to $3000 less than the LE models, so you could get an 18 SE snow checked for less than $12,000. with a 5 year warranty. A 17 left over SE for $11,000 is just about right. I looked for a 17 LE last March and there were NONE to be had anywhere is the US and that was straight from Kip too! In closing who cares what anyone else rides, ride what ya got and enjoy! Were all in this small group called snowmobiling! This thread is like being in 4th grade arguing over whose Mom is the prettiest.

What was the MSRP on the sled you snow checked/purchased snoden700viper??? I can remember when new MSRP was less than $2,000. We have come a long way from there for sure. We enjoyed every ride on those sleds.

No,No,No,didn't have a RX-1, No, you couldn't give me a New Viper or Sidewinder. A easy turn of a couple adjusters is all it takes!

MSRP for the Sidewinder LTX-LE 137 is $16,899.....still under the 17,000. That's for both the 50th anniversary or racing blue. The RTX-LE are $200 less MSRP.
