W/O the long winded quotes [sure would be nice if they collapsed down]-- :...............
I think what Tracker is attempting to say is the earth has some variation in the amount of tilt angle or obliquity....................................................and that it varies over a 41,000 year cycle from 22.2 to 24.5 degrees. Thanks for bringing me back to college physics!!
yes that's it...was hoping damage would of read the links I provided but I guess not....that tilting regulates the seasons on a smaller scale....and anything can knock it out of whack................................................................bottom line is...the earth is out by ABOUT 2 seasons...so with that in mind....get set to explore the yellow legal areas of sledding until june...simple really...on the SOHO home page link there is a speedometer that shows the wind in real time....today its 499 kilometers per second...wowsers...which...gives us all LES...woohooo
from wiki link above:
Earth’s current tilt angle is approximately 23.5 degrees. The axial tilt angle affects climate largely by determining which parts of the earth get more sunlight during different stages of the year.
This is the primary cause for the different seasons Earth experiences throughout the year, as well as the intensity of the seasons for higher latitudes

This is all well and good. HOWEVER if this is the cause (tilt of Earth on its axis) it would shift SO SLOWLY that there would be no way any living person would notice it.
I would have to guess for the earth to be out of sync by 2 months would have to take thousands of years. Based on a 41,000 year cycle of obliquity changes.
Just because spring is a late comer this year, by no means indicates a swing in seasons. Seems to me this time last year temps were in the 70's. If seasons were shifting, average temps for the 2nd week of April would be 30ish, but they are high 50's near 60.
2016 had record setting early ice out for the state of Minnesota. '15, '17 , '12 , '10 , '07 were all early ice out on Lake Minnetonka, all before April 5th. '04, '05, & '06 were all out by the 9th.
So how does this fit into seasons being out (late) by 2 months?
