My wife & I both have M-10 and find it very hard to ride anything else. That is why I still ride my '06, I am affraid I can't get this kind of ride from a mfg. sup.

not even comparible, M-10 beats the Edge by a mile, but M-10 will cost a heck of a lot more. they're going for $600 vs the edge for around $250. dont' get an M-10 confused with an xtra-10, i've seen lots of craigslist ads saying "M-10 suspension here for sale for $300" and i look at the pic and it's an xtra-10.

m 10 hands down. No comparison in ride quality, or longevity. Keep it greased, and you will love it for many years.

If you are going to buy new, consider the Team Fast air wave over the spring type M10 it is much better . If you going the used route, look for a real m10 not a Polaris knock off which they put in their sleds after 1995. You can up grade a Team Fast M-10 to an air bag sytem later if you chose.

polaris m-10 is still 10 times better than edge. not saying edge is bad but the m-10 has no torsion springs and it's more of a bottomless design.

I have an 02 XC600 with the M-10 and love it! The thing rides like a cadillac! It just absorbs the moguls with no major kick-back. Also have an 03 XC 600 with the Edge suspension -it hooks up more, but also kicks-back in the big moguls. If you are looking for something that launches/jumps then the Edge is better. But for a smooooooth ride the M-10 is excellent!!!

The M-10 is good if you like a nice ride and don't drive fast like me. If you drive fast and fly over the bumps you will need a new back. If you drive 50 mph or slower it is great, faster on the R/R grade it sucks had a new rental 2 years ago with the M-10 I hated it had my fox shocks rebuilt so I had a new rental from the dealer for the day, after that thank god I did not buy the M-10. Even my 65 year old dad hated it when I let him drive it. This is only my opinion, I want the best ride that's why I have a 800 Dragon I drive fast, even Dad drives a 800 IQ, he is 67 this year. Next year he will be riding a 2011 800 RUSH. I hope I will still be riding at 68.
One more thing the M-10 its like a pogo stick.

The true M-10 from Fast is one of the best suspensions around. When Polaris offered their version back in 2001 they were pretty good. The Polaris M-10’s from about 2004 on up are not as good. Polaris started putting on down graded shocks. They started cheapening parts like the front cross member that tend to break. I noticed the weight transfer is nonexistent on the newer versions, giving it somewhat of a boring ride. I currently own a 2007 LX with an M-10 and have owned a 02,04,05,06 model year Polaris with M-10’s, this is just what I have observed over the years. Last weekend a friend of ours borrowed the LX and said it was the best riding sled he has ever ridden, so the M-10 ride is very subject to personal opinion.

it really depends on how you ride.

edge: better for jumping and ditch banging and messing around

m-10: better for trail riding, and cruising

I have 2 M10's in my family. Both are of an older vintage but they are nearly all the same save the Airwave.

I've ridden about 2-3000 miles on them and they continue to impress. I've studied, researched and tuned mine for my riding. I've ridden trails, ditches, mild jumping and it has held up great. My cousin has one in his sled and completely beats the paint off of it. He did end up breaking the front torque arm at about 6000 miles.

Once you ride one, you will not want to go back to any other skid. For everyone that says, it's just a cruiser skid, I personally think they are mistaken. Then people will say that they will bottom out really hard once in awhile and almost throw you off the sled. I'll take an occasional hard hit and be prepared, then enjoy another 1000 miles before the next one.

I have not spent a lot of seat time with the Edge skid, not do I want to. Here in N. WI, there are 1000's of miles of trails and ditch riding is not too popular. Perfect skid for trails, and if you want to pound it, go ahead. Set it up right and you'll be fine. Everything can break if you try hard enough.

If you want setup tips, let me know.
