Question for the poo buffs. How do these two suspensions compare when it comes to trail riding and off trail. I'm sure one is better than the other. Will I bottom out more with the m-10?? Found a steal on a 06 classic and need to know more.

I ride both. The 06 classic is by no means ment for off trail. I can side hill with an edge chassis far better than the IQ. It's personal preferance.

Thanks p1 I saw the other thread also that I missed the first time. I just thought the price was incredible 2006 classic w/2200 miles probably could get for 3,300.

2200 miles the torque arm should be about ready to snap and tear a hole in the track and take out the front shock on the skid. Happened to 3 of us in town with M10. Fixed mine and trade it off. 2006 Classic 700 and the other 2 were 2006 Fusions. Fusions broke one week apart from each other this year. Is it a Fast or Polaris cheaper version.

i wouldn't be too worried i know someone with 7000 miles on an m-10. it was an 02 though. matters a lot on who rode it.

I have a Fast M10 with 14000 miles on it no problem and another one with 8000 miles and don't expect any problem. But how you ride them and how you care for them means alot, I guess. I am not that hard of a rider and make sure I grease them before and after each season. Also have a Fast AIr Wave with about 1000 miles on it not expecting any trouble here either.

IQ's do not have the true Fast M10 suspention. $3300 if this is a 600 That is a very good deal, Let me know if you don't take it. I would be interested in it. John

I think that's the exception rather than the rule. I have 10,500 on my 2006 with M-10 and not a single issue yet. I have had 4 sleds now with the factory M-10, all with high miles, and not a single issue with them. Best suspension I have ever ridden until I rode the Rush this year! I do agree the pre 2006 M-10's from the factory were a little better, but I still love my M-10's!

The first thing I would do with the 2006, if it is a Polaris M-10, would be to weld a gusset around the front sing arms to reinforce it. I also had 2006 Edge chassis and a 2007 IQ chassis that broke in the same place. Both sleds were driven exclusively by my wife. The 2006 did not ruin the track, but the 2007 punched a big hole in the track and the track had to be replaced. As far as ride, some people love em and some people hate em.

Copied from another forum

I would NOT buy a 2006 or newer Polaris with an M-10.They have a big problem with breaking front arms.FAST is working on this problem right now.Brian from FAST told me Polaris has not got the front or rear arms mounted in the correct locations. If you go on thier website and look in the technical spot they have a warning to relocate the front arm to the top hole in the sliderail. They are presently working on how to relocate the top mount of the rear arm to where they want it.They believe the arms being located in the wrong spots is causing to much stress and causing the front arm to break.Mine just broke at 6600 miles. If that isn't bad enough when the arm breaks the jagged edges of the arm catch on the drive lugs of the track and tear them off and then go right through the track.Polaris tells you to take a hike if you want to get it covered by warranty.Polaris also took most of the adjustments out of the 2006 and newer M-10 and put in cheap shocks. If you set your sag correctly(4-5 inches) cornering shouldn't be too bad.The older Polaris (2001 to 2004,maybe2005) are almost a true M-10 and you shouldn't have these issues. The best thing to do is put an FAST Airwave in or M-10 with the airshocks in or try the Cat with the sliding front arm.

Ditto...talk to the boys at FAST...the Polaris "Fast" is not the same as the real mccoy. Some say that these Polaris suspensions, bottom out too easily. Probably depends upon your weight and how you ride. I think I remember that revalving the shock improves this problem...don't know...don't have it and wouldn't buy it.
