Electrical wire running to the throttle assembly on a 91 phazer?

Me and acatzl550 were working on a 91 phazer. We broke off this electrical wire that was connected to the throttle. We didn't possibly think it could've done anything, so we put it back together and started it up. It ran, but wouldn't idle at all. So, we sat and tried adjusting the throttle to get it to idle but wouldn't. Then, we connected the 2 wires together, started it, and it ran. It ran GREAT actually. Put 3 miles on it and i never knew a phazer could go 75 mph on grass! So, my question is, what's this wire called/supposed to do?

would you be able to get by just soldering the 2 wires together? how does the switch have anything to do with the idle?

You can by pass it yes loop both wires together if thats what one wants to do! But it is there for your safety and others. If you can get back there to solder them that would work but I think the break right at the glue with noting to solder to!

we just tied em together and put a wire cap nut on it.

This is the throttle override which will not allow the sled ot rev up if the throttle sticks or freezes up. It is a safety feature which should be left on.
