End of season sled storage

Just a quick question on sled storage. I have heard it stated that a sled should be stored with a full tank of gas plus sea foam or other gas additive. How are you storing your sleds?

You're going to get a long list of opinions on this one. Personally, I treat the gas and let it idle long enough to ensure it's into the carbs, injectors, whatever you have and shut it down. Back when I had a 2 Stroke I fogged the engine during this period just prior to the shutdown. Then I try to syphon off the remaining gas from the tank and burn it in the truck. First thing next Fall I fill it up with Fresh Gas. I do this with all my engines for seasonal maintenance and have never had a problem. There's a lot of options and my advice is do whatever works for you.

Probably too late for you know, but I add the Sea Foam (or Star Tron) to the tank when I fill up for my last ride (assuming I know when my last ride is, and I usually do). That way I know it's circulated thoroughly throughout the fuel delivery system.

X2 on what Gary said, sea foam, stable or whatever gas treatment you use run it through then drain as much as possible. Even with the treatment the gas won't be as good as fresh so don't waste a tank of gas sitting all summer.

Store it with a tank full of non-oxy 92 loaded up with SeaFoam. Start it and put it on a stand and run it up to about 85 mph for about 2 minutes so the nice SeaFoam gets all over where it needs to be. Put sled back in corner of shed and cover it with the smelliest dryer sheets you can find. Leave alone until November. Do Not start it in July. Do not even look at it. Mow your lawn and shoot pocket gophers.

Back when tanks were steel always stored them full. Since they are now plastic I store them empty. In the fall I dump 5 gallons in, syphone it back out in case there was any moisture in tank and dump that in car or tractor and put fresh gas in and start. Even treated gas I do not trust over an entire summer. But as started above you will get many answers so pretty much since most everyone on here doesn't have a problem with there sleds in the fall I would say no wrong answer.
