Engine Swap

How hard would it be to swap a 440 fan for a 570 fan in a 2000 z 440?

I think it would be too much work to put in a LC engine and the 570 is the biggest i can get fanned.

The 440 chassis is the same as all the others, fan or liquid. Yes it should fit, you will probably need the electronics too, along with the carbs and exhaust. A liquid install would be difficult, having to add all the cooling sytem stuff. The suspension may not be up to par with a bigger motor as these were pretty much non adjustable and real basic.

is the 570 Even a diff bottom end than 440? if you go for a 570 find a 04 or older twin carb 05 up less power.but if your 440 is not junk would be prob faster and ez to mod the 440.they raced 440fc mods back in the day could prob get some parts cheap

The z440's got 7200 miles on it and still runs good. Only problem on sled was bearing on fan blade i believe, nothing big.

Dads got a 570, love the power, can't afford a crossfire or M sled like I would want, but would want more power.

What kind of mods can I do for a 440 fan, and where can I find parts?

There were not a lot of mods for the 440 hairdryers. the motor just cant take a lot of heavy mods. You might find a pipe for it, and someone willing to do some porting, but you would gain a lot more with the 570 swap. Thats nearly a 40% gain in cc's. not to mention the torque gain from the bigger motor.
