Ever though of restoring your favorite sled from your youth?

Well, I am. Not sure how many people check there but I have a thread in vintage sleds I've been updating as the process goes along. Here's the rear suspension done. Just finished it tonight!!

i didn't do it myself but had my mechanic restore a 1983 Yamaha SS440. Picking it up in two weeks. Yamaha actually had a brand new still in the box rear skid. Restored the entire sled. can't wait to ride it. this was my first sled when I was a kid.

Just jet it as fat as needed. Plugs will tell you the story. Mine ran great. Seriously, I doubt yur building this sled as a backpack tripper.....LOL

Yes, my dad's 340 78 Liquifire is still sitting in a scrap pile on a farm of my brother's buddy. Just talked to him over the summer and he said stop up to get it anytime he'd help dig it out, now to find a spot to store it so the wife doesn't find out!

I have a small fleet of nearly matching, late '70s smaller CC sleds. These were the same type sleds I grew up and loved as a kid. They dont get much easier to work on. Air cooled, single carb, etc. I keep them restored and maintained for our kids, grandkids, Grandma and myself to ride together around the house when everyone comes over.

Thought of restoring the sled I had as a youth. I wouldnt say it was my favorite or the one I wished I rode. But it is the one a had. Should restore it so my kids understand how good they have it. I had a 74 Rupp Nitro when I was their age.

My first sled. 72 Lynx 292. Would LOVE to restore one. Been sorta looking last couple years for one. Just haven't pulled the trigger yet. Looked at more scrap than good bones. Anyone have one let me know
