Extended Heating Elements on Bar Hooks

The RSI Extend Heating Elements says to Not place over the hook set screw holes. My guess is, since there's no "bar" to act as a heat sink, that they would prematurely burn out.

Thought was to fill the set screw holes with plastic filler or fiberglass. That way it's solid. Then the heating element could be extend towards the outside further since the little finger takes the brunt of the cold.

Anyone do this?

Klim gloves should fix it.

you'd have a heck of a time getting to the set screw if you had to after filling it. Rotate the heating element so that the cork and element avoid the set, or bring it as far as you can without covering.

Thanks. I'll just bring it as close to the set hole as possible.

Filling the gap was a bad idea. I'm sure the RSI's will be much better than what I have now.

My canister heaters slide too far, into the bar, to accommodate the hook. Zero heat gets to the end.
