Extended warranty on cat 600?

I have a deal lined up on a leftover 18 cat 600. They asked me if I was interested in an extended warranty. The deal they mentioned adds 4 years, has no deductible and is about $900. I usually do not think these are worth it but thought I’d get some opinions. I have the company name if that matters.

I would buy the ext maybe they could come down 2-300 if like Yamaha. Not knocking Ac a friend of mine had his starter go out so it was an expensive fix. I have a viper that brake tower was destroyed was about a $1500 repair that was at 14,000 miles. If you have to ever sell it it will bring more money. Will depend on how many miles you ride also.

Yes buy warranty if big mile rider on 2s. I would see if you can get price down a bit too as part of your deal sometimes it’s a numbers game with a dealer and he can move numbers around.

it is not the 600 you are buying the warrentry for
it is the recoil the sensors the clutches the sensors and the 1 yr of warranty left on the sled when you upgrade again will sell it 10x faster than the 20 for sale with no warranty.
and let's be honist when you have that flapper taped to the bar for as long as the lake is that warranty gives you a warm fuzzy feeling about the project

what is covered and is mileage unlimited? could be worth it if u ride 2000 miles a year or more - normally I don't like them either.

Have a 2001,2002,2004, 2006, 2011, 2015, 2017, 2019 Cats...in total 50,000 plus miles....never bought a warranty on any sled other than what warranty comes when new... Over the years, I had the fuel sender go bad on the 2017 and it was covered by cat.

I guess its a personal preference, I roll the dice and have come out ahead.

The 600 C-Tec is a bulletproof engine...Extended warranties are a big money maker for those selling them..$200 or $300 is a no brainer..$900 is a rip off! You will never get $900 benefit from that warranty.

Take that $900 and put it in a savings account as your own warranty reserve..

Just bought a new 2019 ZR6000 last week and bought 4 additional years (to make it 5 yrs total) for $800. We put on around 15-16,000 miles on in that time frame and have had great luck getting WAY more than our money back on buying the extended coverage. A lot of times we've had the $50.00 deductible waived as well..

I held off for now but they said I can add it anytime before the cat warranty is up. We probably do 1500 miles a year so it would probably cover me to 7500 miles, so half what you’ll do in that time.

Where did you get it for $800 and what company is the warranty through?

DON'T WAIT ! Cat changed their policy and now in order to extend the warranty you have to do it within the first 30 days of purchase. We found this out the HARD WAY when we purchased a new 2017 ZR6000 El Tigre from an "uninformed" dealer in Hancock and we couldn't extend it. He didn't seem to be concerned about it either.....The 2019 sled we bought came from an AWESOME dealer in Shingleton and it's Cat Care..
