Can someone please recommend through personal experience a extension cord that doesn't take on bends or kinks, can be rewound up again and again, impervious to cold weather and lasts, Orange ones suck, tried yellow jacket...EH, and the blue ones... not much better than orange....Frustrating

I have "Yellow Jackets" of all gauges, and length, 14 to 8, best I have found.

If you don't mind the extra weight, the heavier gauge cords have more insulation (and thicker wire, obviously) and are far less likely to bend or kink. I have some 100 footers that easily coil up every time.

I hear you on this, same with finding a darn good garden hose anymore(black craftsman so far has been the best I can find)
they are the same, they kink like made or are too stiff and don;t roll up!

best advice I have is, try and get them in a warm area before attempting to roll them up, as once warm, they seem to be able to roll up without all the twists and memory
But once cold again, back to square one!!

air hoses ain't much more fun either

all the darn chemicals and materials today, you';d think someone would make something better and make a fortune doing so!
well if they asked a reasonable price that is!

One of the biggest tips I learned is about coiling then uncoiling. If you don't "unroll" the wound cord you put a twist in every loop. Then when you wind it up it does the same. You can't lay it on the ground and uncoil from the "side" if you will, has to be unwound.

There are a couple different techniques I've seen when winding up. I connect the ends, wrap it up, grab the final loop, wrap 90 degrees to the full coil, pass the final loop through to make a hanger loop. I don't have the cord on that loop though, stresses the wires out too much, turns out its really hard to describe on the internet...

Ridgid (sold at Home Depot) has a line of nice flexible Cords that have been my favorite so far. Flexilla (lime Green) that has been known for their flexible Air and garden hoses now makes extension cords. Some cheap cord I wont even take for free
